Campaign Overview

Wildfire Watchtowers transformed Rogers’ 5G network into a real-time wildfire detection system during Canada’s most destructive wildfire season on record. In partnership with AI firm SenseNet, Rogers equipped existing rural telecom towers with sensors that detect thermal, visual, and chemical wildfire indicators.

Alerts were transmitted instantly through Rogers’ low-latency 5G network, giving emergency teams up to 16 minutes of additional response time. With no new construction, no paid media, and no added environmental footprint, Rogers turned connectivity into protection—proving network reliability through direct public service.


Creative Concept

The idea reimagined invisible infrastructure as visible, life-saving technology. Each rural tower became an AI-powered wildfire watchtower, capable of detecting early ignition signals in real time.

· Infrastructure as Protection: Instead of advertising reliability, Rogers embodied it—transforming existing network assets into an active public-safety system.

· Reality as Launch Moment: The first wildfire alert became the campaign’s debut, reported organically as breaking news rather than branded communication.

· Credibility Through Absence: No logos, slogans, or paid media diluted the message. The restraint reinforced trust, positioning Rogers as a purposeful innovator rather than a traditional advertiser.

Network-Embedded AI Detection: Rogers embedded AI detection systems directly within its existing 5G network across wildfire-prone regions.

Multi-Signal Analysis: Sensors continuously analyzed thermal, optical, and atmospheric data to identify early ignition signals.

Instant Emergency Alerts: Alerts were transmitted in real time to emergency responders, enabling faster intervention.

Zero-Build Deployment: No new construction, no added emissions, and no paid promotion were required—maximizing efficiency and sustainability.

Real-World System Integration: The program activated directly within live emergency response systems, ensuring credibility through operational performance rather than advertising.
